Privacy Policy

Quraniya is built for teacher-led Quran learning. The current native student app launch is student-first and requires the person creating a self-service student account to be at least 18 years old. Child, family, parent, and madrasa workflows are scaffolded or planned, but they require the responsible parent, guardian, school, madrasa, or authorized organization to have authority over the learner and the data they manage.

If a future flow knowingly supports younger learners directly, we will update this policy and the product controls before launch.

We collect information you provide when creating or managing an account, including name, email address, password or authentication state, role, language, timezone, date of birth or age-gate answers, gender where requested, profile photo, preferences, onboarding answers, learning goals, support requests, and accepted policy versions.

Teachers may provide additional profile, qualification, verification, teaching, availability, pricing, payout, and public profile information. Organization and parent flows may collect invitation, membership, relationship, and learner-linking information.

We collect learning records needed to run Quraniya, including Quran level, teaching language, teacher preferences, selected teachers, trial or class selections, class enrollments, attendance, session timing, class enrollment state, Quran pages or mushaf preferences, ayah and word marks, memorization or revision progress, notes, reflections, teacher feedback, session summaries, reminders, and related learning activity.

Some of this information may reveal religious learning interests or progress. We use it to provide Quran education features, not to sell advertising profiles.

Quraniya uses camera and microphone access when you choose to join a live lesson with audio or video. Live lesson media is transmitted so students and teachers can communicate in real time. The current production policy is that live lesson audio and video are not retained as lesson recordings by default unless we clearly tell you otherwise.

Live-session providers may process room, participant, device, network, connection, attendance, diagnostic, and quality metadata needed to create and maintain the lesson.

Quraniya may collect and store payment-related records such as class enrollment state, purchase history, checkout references, payment intent references, customer identifiers, subscription records, invoice state, refund records, dispute records, payout eligibility, transfer attempts, connected-account readiness, webhook references, and reconciliation metadata.

Card, bank, tax, and identity details needed for payments or teacher payouts are processed by payment providers such as Stripe. Quraniya does not intentionally store full card numbers.

We collect technical information such as IP address, browser or device data, cookies, session identifiers, secure native session storage identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, logs, error information, performance data, security events, notification preferences, and support communications.

Quraniya uses PostHog for bounded product analytics and diagnostics across supported web and native surfaces. In the native app, PostHog may process a generated installation identifier, app lifecycle and product interactions, and sanitized JavaScript or native crash data. After sign-in, these records may be linked to the Quraniya account ID. Native tracking, session replay, screen and touch capture, console capture, and IP-derived location enrichment are disabled.

We use service providers to run Quraniya. These may include hosting, database, storage, email, authentication, payment, analytics, live-session, notification, Quran asset, support, security, logging, workflow, AI, transcription, and infrastructure providers. We share information with them only as needed for the services they provide or where required by law.

If you connect a Quran Foundation account or another optional external account, Quraniya may receive identifiers, tokens, approved scopes, and related Quran engagement data needed to provide the connected feature. You can revoke connected-account access through the provider or by contacting Quraniya support.

• Authenticate users and maintain secure sessions.
• Route each user to the correct student, teacher, parent, madrasa, or admin surface.
• Run onboarding, teacher discovery, class enrollment, live lessons, synced Mushaf views, and Quran progress features.
• Process payments, subscriptions, refunds, disputes, teacher payouts, and financial reconciliation.
• Send service messages such as verification emails, class reminders, account notices, and support replies.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and unsafe platform behavior.
• Debug, secure, measure, and improve Quraniya.
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, app store, payment-provider, and dispute obligations.

Teacher public profile and class information may be visible to students or the public when published. Student learning information may be visible to the student, assigned teachers, relevant parents or guardians, madrasa administrators, or organization staff where product permissions allow. Platform administrators may access information for support, safety, verification, payment operations, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide Quraniya, maintain learning and commerce records, handle support, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, complete tax or accounting obligations, meet payment provider requirements, comply with law, and operate legitimate business processes. Retention periods may vary by data type and legal context.

You can update supported account and profile details in the app. You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection where applicable law provides those rights. Some information may need to be retained where required for security, payment, legal, tax, accounting, dispute, or operational reasons.

You can request account deletion in the native app from account settings or through our public account deletion page.

Quraniya may process information in countries other than where you live. We take reasonable steps to protect information according to this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Quraniya changes. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the service, email, or another appropriate channel where practical.
